| if i'm a danger to myself Just think what I could do to you |
No! Wynonna got up and ran toward her sister that was floating in the air, but it was like running in one of the glass houses and slamming into a wall she couldn't see! "WAVERLY!" She yelled, from the ground where she'd just been knocked back on to! NO! She'd done everything right for once! She got the sword! She brought Waverly! They'd defeated the damn demon Clootie! EVERYTHING! She didn't want her sister there to turn to stone! "NO! FIGHT It! You're STRONG! Fight this!"
She'd kept everyone back for their protection, but she couldn't have kept Waverly. She needed her! But she had thought by defeating the bad guys she could protect Waverly! Wynonna looked to Doc--who had somehow gotten out of the trap she set for him. Part of her had know he'd find a way but the other part of her didn't know how he'd done it! He had shown up and sucked out the poison that was going to kill her. He'd save her life! Him being a vampire had apparently been what they needed. And in truth--She'd somehow known he wouldn't let her do this by herself. That was why she'd not given him the whiskey. She'd known that he'd find a way out and come for them. She'd needed to know that he would be there.
But right now she couldn't think about any of that! They were going to loose Waverly! Whatever tree had a hold of her sister, was pulling her toward the door. And Wynonna had to watch as it took her closer toward the door! Cause she couldn't go in!

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc had not wasted a moment. As soon as Wynonna left, he was already working on opening the locks, but he also knew that he had to wait until she was completely gone before emerging from the barn . . . and thus revealing that the rope of holy water had no effect on him. It seemed his timing was impeccable because while he missed the fight against Bulshar, he'd made it just in time to see Wynonna poisoned.
He immediately collapsed toward her and started sucking out the venom. He could hear Waverly protesting but he had no time to explain that this was not the vampire part of him. This was the human part of him, strictly sucking out the venom. He spit it out next to her, staggering to the side a little as he was still close to the ground. The effect of it not enough to kill him, but he felt the distaste and limited effect. It was Wynonna screaming for Waverly that quickly pulled him back to reality, thus revealing that his work was not yet done. He looked up to see Waverly being pulled by something towards the door and the risk of losing her were too great.
With Wynonna focused on her, and unable to go through the barrier, Doc stood up and proceeded to unfasten his gun belt, letting it fall to the ground before stepping past Wynonna without a word, and right through the wall. He briefly glanced at her for a moment, before rushing up the stairs, and taking hold of Waverly. His weight pulling her back was not anticipated by whatever was pulling her in and eventually, it let go, causing both him and Waverly to fall down the stairs from the force, resting on their backs as Doc hoped that the barrier was gone and sister could reunite with sister.

Doc stood up and Wynonna blinked up at him. Then he took his gun belt off. "Don't!" She begged, "You're not mortal! It wont let you in!" She saw it disintegrate the other guy! Moving to reach for him, he stepped in--and her hand couldn't pass! "Doc--" Anything she would have said was cut off, as he looked at her! What? How? How did he get in? Then he moved up toward Waverly and grabbed her. Wynonna stood up, and stared at then, even as she still felt weak from the fight and poison. She banged on the invisible border, until they both went falling backwards!
Running over to them both she touched Waverly's face then his, then Waverly's while looking at him. He walked in there! For Waverly! It had let him walk in! As she hugged Waverly to her she could only stare at him with wide and confused eyes. Then she reached over to grab his coat and pull him toward her, to hold on to as well. Her family was safe! They were all safe here for the moment! No curse. No demons. No magic roots. Safe.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Relief washed over him as everything processed. They were safe. The Earp sisters were safe. He felt Wynonna's hands on him and he leaned into her touch, closing his eyes for a moment to just bask in that relief. When they were ready, they stood and began to go back to the Homestead. Clearly, none of them wanted to be there any longer than need be. Waverly thanked him, but Doc didn't even know how to begin to apologize to her. For what he had done. Once returned to the Homestead, Doc gave Wynonna a small nod, the two communicating with no words needed. He knew his presence could . . . put a damper on things. At least for the time being.
He needed to explain himself first, though there was no excuse. He watched Wynonna and Waverly enter their house, while he went to the barn. The look they exchanged, indicating that they needed to talk. That he would wait for her there once things were settled. So he entered to what was once his home, briefly smiling at the rope doused in holy water. The, futile rope. Uncaring as to how long it would take, he moved to sit on the edge of the bed that was still in there, taking off his hat and setting it next to him while he waited for Wynonna to join him.

Wynonna noticed that Doc wasn't going into the house, and instead walked to the barn. She paused on the pourch and looked at Waverly. After a brief talk were Wavs promised to check on everyone and make sure they weren't pissed at Wynonna's attempt at protecting them--Wynonna turned to walk to the barn. Her steps were slow, since she didn't even know how she would begin this conversation. Clearly there was somethings they needed to talk about. She could list them but there was just so much, and she rather wing it.
Pushing open the door slowly, Wynonna stepped in and looked around until her eyes found his. Her fingers tapped ont he door frame twice, before she shut the door and walked closer. Part of her wanted to shake him, part wanted to kiss him, and part wanted to--but she wasn't sure which would win out. Maybe the most important thing to be said was "Thank you for saving my sister." Because he had risked his life doing that, and Wynonna had felt the real fear of him dying where she couldn't follow. And that had scared her. More then him being a vampire had. Which brought her up to WAS he a vampire?

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE When Doc heard someone approached he stood up in preparation, knowing this might not be a sit down conversation, despite his willingness to stay for the duration of it. Hopefully. If things went well. Truth be told, he hadn't the faintest idea what direction it was going to go in. He just watched Wynonna silently as she entered, closing the barn door behind her . . . and then thanking him for saving Waverly.
He gave a small nod in acknowledgement, though wanted to tell her that she never had to thank him for that. Wanted to tell her that he would forever fight for the Earps . . . but also knew that recent actions may contradict that statement. It was a bigger conversation that needed to be had. "How's she holding up?" Considering she had lost her father, and nearly been taken away. The Earps were tough as nails, but he knew that with all that had happened in these past few weeks . . . it was a lot, for anyone. No matter how strong they were.

Wynonna knew he was asking about more then just what was happening here tonight, but about the last few days. "She's got Nicole. Waves says together they will be alright." Which was good for Wynonna. She wanted her sister happy, and she hadn't known what to think about Nicole at first but she liked her for her sister now. It was why she'd not hesitated in asking Charlie . . . Julian? to save her live. No matter the cost. Waverly wasn't loosing anyone else if she could help it. Even Bobo's death would be hard on Waverly since it was a life she'd taken. Poor kid.
Walking closer to him, Wynonna stood closer and looked down at him sitting there. "Doc . . . " she begin. But she only stared at him, trying to figure out what was going on here. "The boarder wouldn't let anyone not mortal in." She told him, trying to figure out how to asking him. "I thought Kate turned you?" In fact she knew Kate had. "You bit Robin, and Charlie, so I know you were turned--but you crossed the boarder and it wouldn't let you do that . . . " There wasn't even a sassy comment right now because she was trying to understand. "How?"

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Yes. Waverly had Nicole, and she had her sister. She would most certainly be alright. He then listened as Wynonna questioned how it had been possible for him to go up the stairs. Because, he wasn't mortal. While he knew she would find out, hearing her say that he had bit Charlie . . . he had killed him. Or so he thought. Truth is, Doc wasn't entirely certain how he became mortal again. He had a few theories however.
"I do not know exactly how," he answered truthfully. "When I woke up in the Greenhouse, I felt . . . different." The angel blood had set him on a path darker than one he embarked on as just a vampire. When he woke up, he realized how close he had come to hurting Waverly, and how many other people he had hurt before then. "I felt mortal again." So many ways he had tried to remain immortal. They never seemed to stick and he knew deep down, that was perhaps a good thing. "Perhaps it was being touched by an angel somehow." Julian . . . or Waverly.

Touched by an Angel. That sounded like she could make a joke but right now she could only focus on some of the details here. Julian was an Angel. Waverly was part Angel. Which meant Doc had killed an Angel, and then been saved by one. Moving another step closer to where he was standing, Wynonna tried to figure this out. Admittedly she was slow sometimes.
He was mortal! No longer would be spend entirety with Kate. In the end, that was her take away. Stepping forward more she wrapped her arms around him. While she was still upset that he'd done it--Wynonna was just glad Doc--HER DOC--was back were he belonged. "Stay that way." She warned pulling back from the hug. He said he'd done it for her and Alice but that was bullshit. They needed him here. His heart but his fangs.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE She wrapped her arms around him and told him to stay that way. Her mother's words rung in his ear: That Wynonna always forgave him. And while he had not been testing that theory as motive to do what he did . . . he was relieved by her actions. Her words. Indicating that the damage he had done was not beyond repair. He had become a vampire in a moment of vulnerability and defeat. When realizing the thought of being with her, growing old with her, was not an option.
His only use and the best way to protect her and Alice . . . was to be immortal. But here she was, her arms around him and telling him to stay mortal. When she drew back his eyes met hers. There was still one thing that he was trying to understand . . . and yet, knew. Still, it was a conversation that they had not had. "You gave up Peacemaker." To their enemy. He had told her not to and she had given it up. Though he had once said that she could admit she loved him, which had only in turn caused her to pull away from him . . . he needed to know what this meant, for them. For their sake. To truly move on.

His words didn't make it seem like an accusation, but they felt like it anyway. The first thing he had said when they had been awoken was 'tell me you didn't give up Wyatt's gun'. Stepping back a little, her hand lifted to her hair as she brushed it back, before it dropped down to lightly smack her leg. "And you gave up you're mortality." She returned in the same tone he used. A defense mannerism.
She knew what he was asking though. "I got it back," and just in time to be named a hero who could wield a fancy sword! "It's a sword now. I wield a sword now. How bad ass did I upgrade!" She joked, knowing she was avoiding the topic. The thing was, she had given up the gun after hearing Doc die over and over and over and over, slowly in his own personal hell. Slowly being buried under dirt more and more, and each time she failed in saving him. They'd used him to break her. She loved him. In the end, she'd weakly given up the gun, knowing that it would bring an in end to the world if she didn't stop it; because she loved Doc too much to hear him die. Again and again.
She knew it was his fear. That he couldn't stand the dark, and the small places. They'd made him unable to move, and then put his face right before her so she could watch him, and hear him. He asked her to try, and she tried, and tried but could never get to him. And then she did! She saved him once. Only to have him put in a grave, alive and scared to do it again. Along with Waverly. Wynonna had always thought she was this strong lone warrior who had a kick ass team behind her. She'd learned that day she was not the lone wolf--she loved him too much. So she'd given up the best chance they had at saving the world for him. And she didn't know how she felt about it. Or how he felt about it.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Yes. He did. And now he was mortal again. Somehow, he always found his way back to being mortal from a seemingly impossible state of immortal. Then she spoke of how she got it back, making a joke about how bad ass its newest form was. He smiled in response, knowing that her reaction was similar to the reason he did not promise to remain mortal.
No one knew what the future held, and he did not like to make promises he could not keep. Not that he was currently thinking of changing his state. "It still does suit you," he agreed with a continued smile. "So long as it remains by your side and no other's." As from his understanding, she was the guardian of it. Appointed by Waverly. Seems that Wynonna was always fated to have Peacemaker -- regardless of its form -- in her possession.

As long as it remains by her side, and no one else. He was still talking about the gun, and her giving it up. Wynonna looked around the barn as if there would be something there to make a joke about, or to distract them from this but then she looked back at him. "What was I supposed to do?" She asked, knowing that his answer would be to not give it up. Keep fighting. Never give in. THAT was easy to say! It was always easy to say! Words could be spoken without the trust feeling of the impact behind them!
She'd lost track of how many times she'd died, how many times she'd listen to him trying to hide the panic from her. Trying to keep her going! She had listened to him laying there in fear for hours or days! Each time she'd failed in saving him and had to start ALL OVER AGAIN! She couldn't get to him, and each time he got covered with more and more dirt! AND JUST when she had hope that she might have saved him--he was back underground! She'd dug the grave with her own hands and covered him up. Could hear the panic in his voice even as he told her to not give up Peacemaker. It had broke her. "I couldn't let you die again." She'd broken, and was too weak to keep going. Doc was her weakness. She loved him more then herself. So she'd given up the gun.
And now she was on a roll, and a little upset! Not at him, so much as at everything. She knew everyone blamed her for that but she was a big girl. She could take it. Doc however-- "Maybe I did give up in there." She told him, looking at him while she tossed out words. "I could see you're face. He put that right in front of me, so that every time I died--and It died A LOT!--I would start all over and watch you get more and more covered with dirt. The harder I fought to get to you, Doc, the more I died and the more you got covered." Her voice shook with the memory. "And then finally--FINALLY--I got to you and I thought . . . I did it! I had just a little bit of hope because I thought we have done it. And he put you right back in the ground. I had to dig that gave. I had to listen to you under there. I couldn't do it any more. I couldn't listen to you slowly dying in the worst way you knew how."
"I gave up. And even knowing how it ended, I'd do it again. Id' rather fight a loosing war with you, then win without you." Because as she said in the dream thing, she loved him.
