darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE He wished he could believe her. But, he knew it wasn't true. He had not kept her safe. She had kept them all safe. But he wasn't about to argue about that. What mattered right now, was that they were here, all together. That Alice could really get to know her mother. Both Alice and Wynonna deserved that. More than deserved that. It was why he made sure that Alice was familiar with Wynonna. That he told stories of her. That she knew her mother was a hero. All thoughts stilled when he felt her lips against his.
He closed his eyes, his arms still around her, soaking in the feeling of . . . her. The sensation of her kiss, breathing a part of his life back into him that had been gone for the past five years. Letting it linger, letting himself selfishly bask in it, he hesitantly, slowly eased out of the kiss but kept them close. He wanted this. He wanted to be just, be with her and let things be simple . . . but they never were. Belatedly opening his eyes he looked at her, trying to think of what to say in this moment. "Shall we go check on her?" This, them needed to be a bigger conversation, that much he knew. And he feared he would just, lose himself to the emotions he always felt when they kissed.

The kiss was so much shorter then she wanted, but t was perfect in helping ease the torment and anxiety of trying to adjust to them being home. While it was wonderful they were home, Wynonna knew that they had been a family for five years, and she had been away from them. She wasn't sure how she fit in with them but was going to damn well try. Her fingers brushed over his cheek once more before she nodded her head and slowly, almost regretfully, let him go. "Lets check on our daughter."
Our daughter. Stepping toward the steps, Wynonna looked back at him, and then lead them up the steps. Alice's room was Waverly's old room before she moved in with Nicole. Now it was bright colored with lots of purple. Lots and lots of purple. Waverly and Jeremy had promised that Alice would like it. There was a cowgirl lamp, and a Jessie from toy story rug. The purple was offset by the wooden trip. Pausing to lean on the door frame, Wynonna watched Alice.
