They's killed the widows. Dolls had killed the fire department (with fire which was a little awesome). The zombie sheriff was apparently still coming, but he was weak for now, and they would find a weapon that could kill him. End the curse once and for all. Until then, she had something else on her mind. The shortest person she'd ever seen. "I always thought short people were funny--I mean it had to suck not to see the stage at concerts--but she is perfect." She being her daughter. Wynonna walked sideways with one arm out while Doc carried Alice into the homestead.
She'd given birth at shortys, but had come and helped them get out of it, and here were she met Doc. Moving quicker she opened the door and held it open while he walked in. There! Step one done. The baby was home. "Right. You can just sit her . . . " Looking around she had a mini panic attack at the realization that she'd done no shopping for the baby and there was nothing here to put her down on besides the kitchen table. "Shit!" She was screwing up already!
Turning to look at Doc and the baby she ran her hand threw her air. "I'll text Waverly and have her bring some things."

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc couldn't take his eyes off of her. She was perfect. Beyond perfect. The most beautiful little being he had ever laid eyes on. Their daughter. There had been so much happening in the past several weeks -- not to mention how the pregnancy was, expedited -- that he hadn't had time to really process what it would feel like when she actually came into this world. Then again, there was no amount of preparation that could have truly readied him for what it could feel like to hold their daughter for the first time. Drawing out emotions he hadn't even thought himself capable of. He supposed, this was what they called being a father. He was so entranced by her, that it took him a few additional moments to process what Wynonna was saying.
Waverly. Things. Set the baby down . . . Oh! He had something in the car for them. Something he had loaded up as soon as it was done . . . and now would come in use. Yet, Doc was stalling. He wasn't sure he was ready to let her go, even though he knew it would only be for a few moments. He stepped closer to Wynonna, clearly not wanting to part with their baby girl . . . and slowly moved her closer and closer to her mother. "Take her for a moment," he said reluctantly, not taking his eyes off of her, not even when she was safely nestled in her mother's arms. At which point, he just stared . . . once again belatedly realizing that he had given her to Wynonna for a reason. He then turned to leave the house, hurriedly going to the trunk and took out the crib he had made for her.
It wasn't much, but he had started the day after he'd found out about the baby. A way to show that he meant what he had wrote: he was all in. He pushed open the door that he hadn't properly shut, and set the crib down in the living room. It had a heart cut out on the front of it and rocked a little to help lull her to sleep. Looking around, he grabbed a pillow and a blanket, setting it down in the crib to add some padding. He suddenly wondered if he should have painted it . . . or just leave it be. "I hope it will be comfortable for her," he said, his eyes looking back to Alice's before meeting Wynonna's.

Doc gave her the baby back, and then walked out. "DOC!" She hissed in a stage whisper. He left her alone! She was going to hit him! It wasn't long before he came back in. She watched as he sat down the crib and put some blankets in it. Emotion took hold of her but she sollowed it down. He bought her a crib. Walking closer she noticed the details. No. He made this. He had made this crib for his baby.
Sollowing down more emotion she nodded, "I think she'll be fine." While in truth Wynonna had no idea if the baby would, she knew that she loved it. Reaching one hand out she ran her fingers over it, taking in the hours of work it might have cost him. He'd done this between running a bar, chasing after her, and helping the team. And on a bonus side these hours were ones that he wasn't spending in bed with his now ex. Smiling softly, a rare thing for her, Lifting her hand from crib to his chest she gave him a pat. "You're going to better at this then me."

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Her reaction caused a wave of relief to wash over him. She liked it. It was rare to see those smiles from Wynonna; those emotional ones. And he liked knowing that he could draw such an expression from her. He only wished he had the chance to do it more often. He smiled as their baby lay down in it, seeming to fit perfectly -- for now. He'd read how quickly they grew but they had time to prepare for all that. Hopefully.
"Oh, I highly doubt that," he told her sincerely. She thought he would be better at this . . . but no. He knew that she would be. "I do not think she could have a more caring, protective mother than the one she has now." He paused for a moment, taking Wynonna's hand in his and looking at her with soft intent so that she knew he meant his next words. "You'll be a wonderful mother. You already are. And I am the lucky one to be a part of all this." Of parenthood.

The sonofabitch was a good sweet talker. Wynonna gave a nod, and then a eye roll at his world. She didn't believe them, but she was grateful he thought so. Turning her body she kissed his cheek before handing him the baby. "Make sure she fits." While her joke was joking, her face held a lot of emotion. They were doing this. Together.
While Doc did that, she kept talking. "You can stay here for a while." In the house, not the barn. "So you can be close and all." To help her not panic. Not screw this up too. Doc had a calm spirit and she needed that right now. Needed him to be that rock that kept her head above water. She needed him. Always had. Always would. "I want you here. I need you here. With us. We're an us now. The three of us."

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc gently took their baby, delaying the process of putting her in the crib for he just enjoyed the way she felt in his arms. The way it made him feel when he held her. He slowly and carefully began to lay her down, basking in the glory that it was a perfect fit. A bit large but he had intentionally made it that way, to accommodate her size. Eventually, they would need something bigger. That was what he had read after all. He put a bit of the blanket over her, gently rocking her a little as Wynonna spoke. His eyes moved to the mother of his child, taking in her offer and . . . extremely grateful for it. For had she not said it, he would have asked for it. He wanted to be close to her. Close to both of them.
"I would very much like that," he told her, the gratitude evident in his voice. Hearing her then refer to them as an us . . . made his heart swell. Us. He recalled the last time that word was used, and she had said there was none. But, a baby had changed everything. Perhaps the only thing it hadn't changed, was his love for Wynonna . . . though, he supposed it only strengthened it. "Us," he repeated, looking back at their daughter. "I do like the sound of that," he added softly. Letting the words process, letting his heart and mind absorb it, he turned back to the heir.
"If my former accommodations are still in place, I can remain in the barn." He paused for a moment. He knew that these small devices -- cellular phones they were called -- could alert him should Wynonna or Alice require anything. But even the barn seemed to far away. "Or, if you would permit me, perhaps I could remain here, on the couch?" He didn't want to presume anything, nor pressure her. Truth was, he couldn't think of a place he'd rather be than beside her; the three of them, all together. But, he would take whatever he could get. To hear her say that she wanted him here, needed him here . . . meant the world to him. He wouldn't do anything to threaten that.

He liked the sounds of that. Good. Because they were in this together for at least the next 18 years. Oh gosh! 18 years! This prefect thing was going to be a teenage. She needed a drink. Could she drink now?? She hoped so because she really missed drinking right about now. A lot.
"I was thinking in the house when I offered." She told him, leaving off the where art for now. She wasn't up for anything sexy--Alice had stretched her good bits, and they still hurt. She wasn't going to make an old man sleep on the couch. They had a lot to figure out, but not in this first moment.
In this moment they could just sit. Moving so she sat on the couch, Wynonna looked at the crib near by. "She's beautiful." And she was! She was perfect. Little perfect fingers and a wrinkled face. There wasn't a lot she had done right in this world but the fact that she had made this was crazy. "She's got your chin." Wynonna joked.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc couldn't help but feel relieved when she said that she had been thinking of the house. So long as Waverly was alright with it, Doc was more than happy about such arrangements. He wanted to help, and be there every step of the way. "Well, that's good," he acknowledged, gratitude in his voice. "I've even been learnin' how to change diapers." He required several visual aids and he even secretly practised -- something that only Jeremy knew about as he was the one providing the material to do so.
His smile grew as Wynonna spoke of how beautiful she was. "A true reflection of her mother." And he meant it. Of all the regrets he had in the world, this certainly was not one of them. They had created a life together and it truly was a beautiful thing; a beautiful being. "Oh I should hope not," he said with an amused smile. He looked at Wynonna, leaning forward and kissing her gently on the forehead. "Thank you," he said in a low voice, thick with sincerity. Thank you, for bringing her into this world and for allowing him to be a part of all this.

She laughed too when he said that he hoped not, but in truth, she wouldn't mind if Alice looked a lot like her Papa. His eyes, his grin. Maybe her facial hair, but his about everything else. Then he kissed her, and thanked her. It wasn't like she'd had a choice. She'd taken the birth control every day and never once missed it. This was the curse. It had done this to her--but for once she couldn't be mad. This little girl was her everything right now. Her reason for breathing and living, and . . . everything.
"Alls I did was push." SHe joked, knowing it had been a lot more. Which also brought to mind his girl friend, and how she'd wanted her hands on the baby. That would be something they could talk about later. Right now this was their moment with Alice. "I've hurt everything I've ever touched." She admitted softly, speaking her fears outloud. "I'm not sure I can do this right without you." She needed him. More then she needed anyone else. Him and Waverly.
