you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Slade eyed the boy as Mae spoke of how he liked to look. His gaze of feigned disapproval meant only to further intimidate and frighten him. "Is that so," he commented, as the boy shook his head, in desperate attempt to convince him otherwise.
Slade glanced at his wife and then back at the boy, though his words were meant for Mae. "Well, we can't kill him now because he owes us money. So, what should we do with him?" He look at his wife as she was provocatively seated before him. "Your call," he teased with a smirk, giving her that power of choice. Something that was often reserved only for her as he was not often one to give others such choices.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Well, wasn't she fun. Playing along with this entire thing. But then, it shouldn't come as a surprise given what he knew about her thus far -- as limited as it was. He supposed it was only the beginning with the way this conversation was going. "Without a doubt," he said confidently when she spoke of how she was within his means.
"But I do hope you aren't puttin' me in the same category as those other men," he added on with a wave of arrogance. "Cause trust me . . . " He leaned forward, speaking close to her ear as he continued. "I ain't like them." With that, he drew his head back and took a gulp of the drink. "So maybe it's time we quit talking about it and I start showing you." Cause clearly, this conversation was only going one way, and that was upstairs. "And you showin' why you're worth it." A taunting tease, his smirk still playing on his features.

Slade's Wanted Characters
Hey everyone! Below is my list of Wanted Characters! Hover over the image for more information about the character! I would love for someone to take either of these charries! I have suggested several different plots for each character but PLEASE do not feel pressured to do them!! They are just to help with any inspiration and such! I'm always up for whichever plots, canon or AU!! I'll be adding more soooon!
[nospaces][googlefont="Oswald:400"] [attr="class","colors-of-the-sky"] [attr="class","box"] [attr="class","header1"][attr="style","background-color:#;"]Jean Marchand [attr="class","name"][attr="style","background-color:#;"]Bulshar [attr="class","main-content"]So I have it where Slade is Clootie's deputy! He's loyal to him and enjoys his ways of running the town!! I imagine there could be a LOT of fun threads during this time period and even some where he returns, as I also have Slade as a Revenant! Would be awesome if someone took on this character so that we can raise a little hell . . . literally!
[attr="class","box"] [attr="class","header1"][attr="style","background-color:#;"]You Choose [attr="class","name"][attr="style","background-color:#;"]Lenora [attr="class","main-content"] So this is an OC character for Slade! BASICALLY, she's an orphan, orphaned at a young age, and so was Slade! The two were arranged to be married, as the Sheriff at the time (before Clootie) had hopes that she would be a good influence on Slade! She is eventually murdered but I envision her as the type of character that's super sweet, everyone loves and is very caring and nurturing! If anyone is interested in this character, let me know! I would love to plot out some things with them and we can of course work on the backstory too! you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED She liked it. That much was clear with her reaction and the way she admired it -- and herself -- in the mirror. Worthy praise if he ever did see it. His hand moved with hers to her breast, cupping it in his own palm as she told him she would do anything fro him. That she would prove it to him. Yes. He liked the sound of that; the exhilierating thought of all that it could entail. And the time they had to explore it. He brushed her hair back with his free hand, kissing the side of her neck as his hand continue to massage her breast.
"Anything," he confirmed. His hand moved from her breast, trailing up her chest, over her neck where his fingers spanned across it so that he used his top fingers to tilt her neck up a little, lowering his own head to kiss her on the lips, deeply, slowly. Building it up, knowing they had time. But . . . he also knew this, slow pace would not last. His own need was too strong and it was starting to physically manifest.
Ending the kiss, but breathing against her lips his hand trailed back down her body, cupping over the fabric that covered her core between her legs. "Then start now," he teased, encouraging her words of proving it. His head straightened to look at her reflection once more, speaking to her through it briefly before letting his lips touch over the skin of her cheek. "And you best not have any more clients tonight," he told her in between.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED A reason to stay seated. Yes. He quite liked the sound of that. He watched her every moved as she stood between him and the desk. Hell, he could feel the warmth of her skin through the fabric of his clothing. How that was even possible, he hadn't the faintest idea. He watched her lower herself so that she knelt before him, giving instruction, or demands.
Either way, Slade was hardly one to object to them. Once hand moved to his belt as he began to unfasten it, his other hand went behind her head, as he pulled her up towards him until their lips met. His hand effortlessly pulling open his belt while kissing her. He didn't want to waste a moment and it would be a lie if he said he hadn't thought about her since their last time. Pulling out of the kiss, he kept their mouths close, his voice lowered. "And I want to taste you," he told her, having gotten at least a bit of a taste right now to quench that thirst.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Well, her words of parting made it quite evident as to how she felt about the entire situation. No sympathy for the man. Now that was something he found to be quite intriguing. Some women were soft and caring. Others hardened and bold. He quite liked what he was learning of this one so far. He gave a nod to her when she instructed the bar tender not to dilute the drink.
Yes. Something stronger, something better. She told him that he could buy anything he liked here and the words only kept his smirk in place. "I reckon a lot of men offer to buy you a drink," he began to say, knowing this was the classic move when courting a woman, or in this case . . . keeping the company of a prostitute. He passed her the drink when the barkeep slid it towards them. "But how many of them can truly afford you?" He asked leaning towards her a little as he raised his glass to toast.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Slade cocked his head to the side, his nonverbal response telling enough as his eyes stay fixated on her. Taking in every inch of her body, part of it starting to slowly become more and more revealed as she complied. Moving in sensual motions to lower the top of her dress, leaving her exposed. Just as he had wanted. His tongue slightly ran over the bottom of his lips as she asked him if this was what he wanted, her fingers moving to the bottom of her shirt.
He downed the last bit of his drink before standing up, knowing that if he didn't move now, he may just let her keep going. He approached her, standing directly behind her so that her back was pressed against his front. He reached into his pocket only needing one hand to unwrap the cloth that held the gift: a gold necklace with a string of diamonds along it. It was far from a cheap token, but that was after all, the point. He proceeded to put it around her neck, letting it fall perfectly in place as he looked at her through the reflection of the mirror. Yes. The riches he could offer her definitely suited the woman well. He turned his head to the side, taking in a slow breath of her scent, before pressing his lips against her ear, his voice lowered as he spoke against her skin. "Now how do you intend to thank me for it?"

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Slade's eyes met the woman as she entered the building, and remained on her she drew closer. Truth was, he enjoyed seeing her. Enjoyed being with her. If she hadn't come, he doubted he would have been able to keep his distance for long. Clearly, she'd felt a way too with the way she sauntered in. The way she spoke; what she said. Her whole demeanour. Seductive and sultry indeed.
"It suits me fine 'less you give me a reason to get up from it." He paused for a moment, his eyes slowly moving over her though only the upper half of her body, trailing back to meet her eyes. "Or a reason to stay in it." Clearly, he had no shame. Practically the whole town knew he was married but for him, that mattered very little. Hadn't bothered him the first time he met Mae and didn't bother him now to shamelessly flirt with her. Encouraging the potential to have it lead to more.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED There was an odd sort of joy he found in seeing her smile. Odd, because it wasn't as if he felt this way about just anyone. Not even his wife. There was something . . . new. New emotions and feelings she caused to stir within him. Perhaps, he had found his soulmate. When they revelled in the same things and were so, physically in tune.
Yes. It made him come back for more and long for it. His arms went to her waist as he kissed her back, but restrained himself from starting to undo her clothing. "Anything," he repeated, more in acknowledgement rather than question. He lowered his arms from sides and took a couple of steps back, though not to leave. "Lower the top of your dress and stand in front of the mirror," he told her, moving to sit down in a chair as he filled the nearby cup with the bottle of whiskey, watching her expectantly and clearly, he was going to enjoy the show of watching her undress herself.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Slade lade's eyes followed the now fallen figure, laughter erupting in the bar from those who had seen the sight. His expression transformed, smirking as he looked at the alluring beauty step towards him. Ah yes. He could see the way she could entice a man . . . like a siren. Luring him to his very death. It was intoxicating really.
"Beg your pardon for a moment," he began to tell her. He wasn't exactly a polite person but he could play along with this whole, scenario. Besides, once he was done with business . . . then, they could play. He casually stepped forward, his boot stepping hard on the man's hand as he had tried to stand up, slight crunching from what would be a few broken bones with the weight and angle Slade had stepped on it. The man tried to stifle sounds of pain though hearing a few escape, was music to Slade's ears. The deputy crouched down in front of him. "Now don't fear, I'm not a cruel man," he told him in a low voice, his face close to the man's who did not dare move.
"I left your other hand perfectly in tact so you can finish yourself off since you clearly won't have her company tonight." Referring to the woman of course but then, they both knew that. "That is, after you pay the Sheriff what is owed." His voice becoming less unnervingly jovial to serious. He leaned forward towards the man's ear. "Don't make me come find you." And that threat was enough. Slade rose to his feet, while the man scrambled to his, quickly grabbing his hat, clutching his hand, and staggering out of the saloon. Slade casually turned back towards the woman, looking to gage her reaction to all this. "Now then, how about you let me buy you a drink." She had after all, helped in the process of humiliation. For that, he was impressed.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Slade was looking over some paperwork when he heard the all too familiar heels of his wife echoing on the ground. He looked up the moment she led the man in, though he didn't move from his seat. Instead, he just sat, and listened -- alright, well half listened -- to the soon to be client as he rambled on and on about his 'situation'. This wasn't the fun part; it was far more entertaining when the payment was due and more often than not, their clients could not afford it.
His eyes lingered over his wife's legs which were a far more desired sight than the man, and he couldn't help but look up at her with a slight smirk in his gaze. When the kid was done talking, Slade leaned back in his chair, letting silence fill the air. It made their clients more nervous. He finally pulled out a couple of papers, scribbled some numbers down and slid them to the other end of the desk, expecting the young man to come over and get it himself. "Sign it." Simple instructions. The young man looked rich and Slade fully intended to exploit him for that. But all in good time.
As the man nervously attempted to read through the fine print, Slade opened one of his drawers and pulled out a wad of bound money, tossing it on the table. "I can't seem to tell . . . " Slade began to say, a hint of mocking in his voice. "If that drool on your chin is from the money, or the sight of my wife." Really, the last part was just to see him squirm. All men were the same. Lured here by an intoxicating beauty, assuming they held a chance with her, hell, some even fantisizing about it. Only to reach the cold reality of who she was . . . and that they should be feeling rather afraid for having any impure thoughts about another man's woman. It was all part of the fun.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED This time, it wasn't business that had him where he was, or seeking out the company of Mae. This would be their . . . third encounter, each one becoming more memorable than the last. In the couple times he had met her, it did not take long to determine her . . . taste. Not so much in the intimate sense, but more in the ways of riches. The thought of spoiling her with a gift which hardly stretched his wallet was far too enticing to forgo. So as he entered the bar where she frequented, she asked the barkeep and he motioned upstairs. She was with a 'client'. That hardly phased the deputy.
He made his way up the stairs to the couple rooms that were designated for such things. One was open, the other presumably was where she and the other was. Without a care or second thought of interrupting, he opened the door as if it was his and stepped into the room. The man had only removed his shirt, and she was still fully clothed. Fortunate for Slade.
"Get out." The man didn't question it, knowing who Slade was. Instead, he hurriedly picked up his shirt, frantic as he attempted to scramble out of the room. Slade stretched out his arm so that his hand rested on the other end of the door, his arm now blocking the man from exiting. "Pay the woman," he told him. Whether the man was serviced or not, whether he paid him or not, Slade spoke with expectation that she would be paid regardless, or double the amount. Either way made no difference to him, so long as he handed over what was owed to Mae.

Tag: Mae Slade Note: Credit for thread title goes ENTIRELY to Duchess! you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Slade was here on official business. He was in search of a man who happened to evading the Sheriff. Something about money owed. Slade didn't always ask for the details if he didn't need to know them. Point yes: he was to retrieve said man and bring him to Clootie in peace or in pieces. Entering the bar a few eyes glanced his ways but he paid them no mind. His own causally surveyed the crowd, nonchalantly approaching the subject when they laid upon him. He was talking to a woman. One that was far too out of his league and very evidently a bar maid. And more.
He approached the two, casually leaning against the bar, his elbow on the wooden surface, the man's back facing Slade. For now. He raised a finger to the barkeep to give him a drink as he turned to the conversation, still not making his presence known to the man. He just listened to him try to -- poorly -- flirt with the wench. Apparently the man had money to blow on a whore but none to pay the Sheriff. Well, this was going to get interesting indeed. Slade shot back his drink, setting the glass down as he proceeded to remove his hat. "When you are about done, I would very much like to have a word." His eyes resting on the woman rather than the man, since he had better eye contact with her at the moment. But that would not last long at all now.

Character Basics
.:Name of Character:. Joseph, preferably Jack, Alfred Slade .:Species:. Human | Revenant .:Alias:. Slade, Deputy
Appearance
.:Physical Appearance:. Slade stands tall at 6 feet with some muscle and a strong build. He has light coloured skin, a bit tanned from the amount of time spent outdoors which some argue is not much at all. Back in the day, he wore attire suited for his role: a hat, vest, pants, boots and always had a couple guns and dagger at his sides. In the modern day, when working he has casual attire, but just as was the case in his deputy days, he wears well tailored clothing for occasions. .:Height:. 6" .:Portrayed by:. Michael Fassbender
Personality
.:Personality:. As Sheriff Clootie's Deputy, Slade had the personality to go with it, well suited for the job. He does not sympathize with many -- if any -- and is diligent in carrying out his tasks, and more. He is unafraid of a fight, but has developed a strong reputation amongst those in Purgatory, having strove to create a presence of fear when entering a room among some. He encourages this, fuels it, and often engages in behaviours to further build this fear among the people. He wouldn't have it any other way. He can be quite sarcastic, possesses a morbid sense of humour, and finds enjoyment in other people's misfortune. For those close to him, and shockingly there are few who are, he has worked somewhat to develop personal relationships with, dysfunctional or not. He is not a man who lives with regrets, nor has a strong tolerance for heroism. .:Abilities:. As Deputy, he is a strong shooter and decent with a knife/dagger. He can hold his own in hand to hand combat, but often prefers to simply get rid of the opponent rather than remotely exhaust himself in a fight. Good poker player, however would rather people just give him the money rather than play silly games to win it. .:Weaknesses:. As a revenant, he can not step outside the Ghost River Triangle providing him with physical limitations. He has lost some of the power he once had as deputy, though strives to maintain it in other areas.
History
.:Birthplace:. Unknown .:Family:. Lenora [First Wife; Deceased], Mae [Current Wife; Revenant] .:Occupation:. Former Deputy to Sheriff Clootie, now is a mechanic and owns a mechanic shop and is a loan shark .:Current Location of Residence:. Purgatory .:History:. There is not a great deal known about Slade's childhood and he would prefer to keep it as such. He was deputized in Purgatory by Sheriff Clootie himself and became his right hand man, carrying out the deeds required of him, no matter how dark or sinister. It confirmed just how right for the job he was. He hardly held any morals himself, allowing the power of this position to consume him, making him practically untouchable and feared in the town. Wyatt Earp changed all that. Slade was gunned down before Clootie, and eventually, re-emerged as a Revenant. Along with his lover, Mae. The depths of hell had changed him, but not for the better. For the worse; far worse. He managed to evade some of the heirs, but as time progressed, society advanced and the nature of Purgatory changed.
By the time Ward Earp came along, Slade had started an auto shop, having others to work for him. On the side however, was a loan shark, targeting mainly gamblers who were addicted to the game. Their stink of desperation was Slade's gain, loaning them money and then taking back what was owed by any means necessary. So far, he has managed to evade the authorities and keep his side business -- and who he is -- from discovery, with the exception of those Revenants who were from his time.
