"Son, I’m frickin’ Doc Holliday"
Character Basics
"Yes, that Doc Holliday."
.:Name of Character:. John Henry Holliday .:Species:. Human .:Alias:. Doc
Appearance
"Darlin’ I’m everybody’s type."
.:Physical Appearance:. Doc is of average height and medium build. He has blue eyes, long brown, straight hair that passes his ears, and a thick brown moustache. He is not often seen out and about without his signature hat one that had to be replaced many a times. His style of dress is that of the time he is from: the late 1800s, early 1900s, though he is learning to modernize his look at least a little. .:Height:. 5"11 .:Portrayed by:. Tim Rozon
Personality
"My vast wisdom is a burden." .:Personality:. There are many aspects to the personality of Doc Holliday. He can be incredibly charming and charismatic -- when he wants to be -- enjoying engaging in flirtatious conversations with women. He considers himself a gentleman -- when he wants to be -- and enjoys having the room's attention. Whether its with what he likes to claim is his natural charm, or with his gripping stories. Though he portrays the idea that he is a lone wolf, a 'no attachment' kind of person . . . deep down, he is the exact opposite. He craves affection and desires to love and be loved. Despite his seemingly frequent and fleeting 'encounters' with women, he does fall for a few every now and then, and when he does . . . he falls hard.
To those he holds dear to his heart, he is emphatically loyal to them and protective of them. He is willing to walk through any dangers and take any risks to ensure their safety. That being said, there are occasions where he makes decisions for his own self interest; ones that could be deemed as selfish. His crippling fear of death has led him on dark paths and decisions that he wishes he could change; deals he wish he could take back. But underneath those layers of seemingly nonchalant, passive and solitary tendencies . . . is an emotional, sensitive and longing man. .:Abilities:. Doc is perhaps best known for his legendary gunsman skills, recognized for being the fastest draw, with impeccable aim. He is also incredibly skilled with other weapons such as daggers, and is an expert hunter and tracker. Added to his abilities, is perhaps how resourceful he can be and his many years of obtaining knowledge from the world around him. He is also an expert gambler (poker being his favourite) and can often tell when a person is lying/bluffing by reading their poke face. .:Weaknesses:. Doc is not as skilled as others in hand to hand combat; he feels far more comfortable with a gun in his hand, and a few in his belt. He also is a bit . . . behind the times. While he is learning about technology, he is still adapting to the modern world after being so far removed from it for over a century. Thirdly, he has severe claustrophobia due to having hidden as a child, and of course being stuck in a well. His fear of small dark places can cause him to act irrationally and do whatever it takes to get out of them -- or avoid going in them to begin with. He also has a fear of heights.
History
"We all make deals we regret."
.:Birthplace:. Griffin, Georgia .:Family:. Mother and father both deceased .:Occupation:. | Dentist | Professional Gambler | Gunslinger | Bar owner | .:Current Location of Residence:. Purgatory .:History:. John Henry Holliday was born on August 14th, 1851. He was small city kind of boy, growing up in a humble family. The first, and perhaps most life changing moment occurred when he was 14 years old: his mother was sick. They had diagnosed her with tuberculosis and she was bed ridden when he was of this age. Because of its contagious nature, she was quarantined. Unable to bare the separation, Doc hid under the floor boards to see her, hearing her agony and suffering day after day . . . until she passed. He too contracted the disease however it did not stop him from carrying on his path. He became a dentist, as well as a gambler in his spare time, developing quite the reputation as such. The next life altering occurrence in his life took place in Texas, where he saved a lawman by the name of Wyatt Earp. The two became extremely close, and he rode with Wyatt, taking down fugitives and those who abused the law.
As he grew older however, his symptoms became stronger and more severe By the time he was in his mid to late 30s, he knew he was dying. This fear of imminent death, prompted him to make a deal with the devil -- almost literally. He was given eternal longevity, curing him of this wretched illness . . . but little did he know the cost it would come at. His best friend and brother of heart, Wyatt Earp was heartbroken when he found out what Doc had done and parted ways with him. To make matters worse, Doc was forced into a well, never to be found for the intention behind it was to further pain Wyatt Earp when news of his best friend having gone missing spread through the lands. Doc spend 130 years at the bottom of the well, outliving heir after heir . . . until one in particular just so happened to leave the rope dangling, allowing Doc to free himself and start on this new path . . . one that he would stumble upon as soon as he realized just how much the world had changed since his day.
