Yes. He had always seen her that way, and Wynonna loved him for that. There had been no judgment for her just being her He'd never made her feel anything but supported and she was the one who torn that down. He was a good guy, which is why out of everyone in her life, he would be the one she asked this of.
"She'd also not safe." From the world here. "Everyone is after her, and no one is going to stop coming for her. Every minute of every day." And night. For a moment she saw it again in her head. Willa being taken through the window. Daddy shot int he bad by her own hand. The picture of him strung up upside down. Willa in the cult. Willa dying. "The Earp curse will never let her go." Not unless Wynonna broke it.
She would do it. She would break the cruse, and end this. For Alice. For Daddy. For Willa. But she couldn't do it while protecting her daughter too. "She'd not safe here."

Doc gave her the baby back, and then walked out. "DOC!" She hissed in a stage whisper. He left her alone! She was going to hit him! It wasn't long before he came back in. She watched as he sat down the crib and put some blankets in it. Emotion took hold of her but she sollowed it down. He bought her a crib. Walking closer she noticed the details. No. He made this. He had made this crib for his baby.
Sollowing down more emotion she nodded, "I think she'll be fine." While in truth Wynonna had no idea if the baby would, she knew that she loved it. Reaching one hand out she ran her fingers over it, taking in the hours of work it might have cost him. He'd done this between running a bar, chasing after her, and helping the team. And on a bonus side these hours were ones that he wasn't spending in bed with his now ex. Smiling softly, a rare thing for her, Lifting her hand from crib to his chest she gave him a pat. "You're going to better at this then me."

She didn't want to give up the baby, but she knew she had to be fair to let him hold her. She knew that soon enough she'd have to say goodbye, to them both. And she knew she might never be ready. Letting him take their daughter, Wynonna watched them, committing the look of them together in her memory. Reaching for her phone, she did something she so rarely did and used it to take a photo of the moment. Doc unguarded, and Alice looking up at her father. This picture would be what got her through the hard months and years that could be ahead of her. Because they couldn't come back until this was done.
Still tired from the birth, and running. She rested her head on the wall for a moment. Giving Doc his first few moments with her daughter untouched by the news she had to give him. They needed this. She needed to just watch it. "Waverly took her to the border. She'd yours." Something she wasn't ready to talk about. He hadn't ever treated her badly because the baby might not be his, but she knew it hurt him. Now he could known for sure. In his heart, since he already had proclaimed the baby his in his mind. "I'm glad."

There was that Doc charm! She smiled, enjoying the idea of meeting him before he met her. THEN he called her a sir. "Dude, I got boobs and a great ass! I'm a chick." She told him, then noticed that no other girls were wearing pants. Shit! Right! Pulling her coat tighter around her she looked up at him. "I need to talk to you. Alone. Now." She kept adding on, knowing that they were drawing attention.
She wasn't sure what she was supposed to learn here but she needed to figure it out and right now he was her only friend--even if he didn't know it yet! "I need you help." Adding that on might make him agree. She was leaning on that 'cowboy' in him that helped people and was honorable. Maybe if he thought she was in trouble he would go off alone with her. They could figure out what was happening here. Together.

He held her. He held her and she felt like crying which was stupid because she didn't cry! But here she was, with hot tears falling over her cheeks and wetting his shirt. Her heart hurt, her vagina hurt, her body hurt. Part of her blamed him but the other part knew this wasn't him. This was just life. Life as an Earp.
Her arms went around him, as her face buried into his shirt and she cried. Holding him tightly. She knew that right now she needed his strengthen. She needed him to hold her in one peace because she felt broken. And apart of her knew he felt it too. Which was why her arms tightened around him, to hold him in one peace too. "Stay." Here. Tonight. For as long as he could.

"Alright then," Wynonna said with a grin. "The name of this game is 'Never Have I Ever'." Which was a dumb girl game but she wanted to learn more about him so she was game to try it with him. "Player one says something like 'never had I ever had sex on the hood of a car' and if you've done it, then you have to take a drink." She gestured to him to see if he would take a drink. She figured he might not since he was new to cars.
This game would let them both get drunk as well as learn things one didn't just come out and ask. Like kinky things. Fun things. Dark thing. "I'll go first." Since she already went first with her example this would be like getting two turns for the price of one. Win win! "Never have I ever . . . gone swimming in a lake naked." With that she took a drink because she had done it.

She was on a spirit quest. That was . . . . cool . . . not really. She was catch the smallpox while she was here. "I really hope my shots came back with me." Walking down the street no one seemed to see her--or care to look at her. Either way no one spoke to her. She was observing. There was a smell here. It wasn't exactly bad but it wasn't really good either. And dust was on everything. "I miss grass."
She hurried to the bar, where she was guessing shed find anyone that she needed too--everyone she knew was too shady to go anywhere nice. If they were the bad guys, they'd be here. If they were--Doc! He'd was here too! Good! He was walking toward the back by himself, and while it looked like he might be heading toward the card tables in the back she needed him. Moving quickly she stepped in front of him, not sure if she would be able to stop him or if he'd walk right threw her unable to see her. "Doc!" Trying his name to see if that made him react.

They's killed the widows. Dolls had killed the fire department (with fire which was a little awesome). The zombie sheriff was apparently still coming, but he was weak for now, and they would find a weapon that could kill him. End the curse once and for all. Until then, she had something else on her mind. The shortest person she'd ever seen. "I always thought short people were funny--I mean it had to suck not to see the stage at concerts--but she is perfect." She being her daughter. Wynonna walked sideways with one arm out while Doc carried Alice into the homestead.
She'd given birth at shortys, but had come and helped them get out of it, and here were she met Doc. Moving quicker she opened the door and held it open while he walked in. There! Step one done. The baby was home. "Right. You can just sit her . . . " Looking around she had a mini panic attack at the realization that she'd done no shopping for the baby and there was nothing here to put her down on besides the kitchen table. "Shit!" She was screwing up already!
Turning to look at Doc and the baby she ran her hand threw her air. "I'll text Waverly and have her bring some things."

Everything was coming apart. Wynonna knew that the baby would never be safe. The crazy firemen frat boys wanted her. The Revenants wanted her. The window sisters admitted that their zombie husband wanted to feed on her. Even Doc's girl friend wanted her. She would be hunted forever. Wynonna had lost Willa and Daddy to this, she wasn't loosing the baby. She had managed to get Alice out of Shortys and was holding her while sitting on the steps in homestead.
She knew it was Doc that was coming. She could hear his voice outside, but even still she used one hand to hold Alice closer and the other lift Peacemaker. When Doc came in she waited for the door to shut before lowering her weapon. "Doc," Waverly was trying to get here but there was a lot happening. She was trying to find out what Bobo was up too, and help Jeremy find the old dead sheriff. So she'd been waiting for Doc. Waiting for her last hope of keeping Alice from harm.
When Doc was close enough she set Peacemaker down and reached for him. She needed his strength now. Needed both for herself and him. Because in this moment she would not only say goodbye to her daughter, but to the man she loved.

She always had a smile. She always had a sassy comment. A dirty joke. A snort. This day wasn't the day for any of that. She hurt. Her heart was broken, and she hurt. Alice was gone. She'd gotten just a short time with her before Wav took her away, with Wynonna staying behind to make sure they got away. It had been the best and hardest and worst thing she had ever done. This shit curse had brought her to this and she hated it. Hated it so much.
Doc asked her if she needed anything and she almost asked for something. Just as a way to get him to go away--but then she knew that was the last thing she wanted. Yes she wanted to be alone, but if anyone understood even a ounce of what she was going through--it was him. Besides, she had kept it from him too, like Wav, so not to break his heart any sooner then she had too.
So instead of asking for anything that would send him away, she numbly and silently walked into his chest and rested her face there.

With Doc the more he felt the less he said. With Wynonna it was the opposite. Where he was still she was on edge. She had cleaned the whole house, brought back all her pillows, paced the house, checked to be sure there was a room ready 6 times, paced the house, snapped at everyone, apologized to almost part of that everyone, and paced the house.
Alice was safe. They'd done it. They'd stuck together and done it. Now Alice was coming. Walking up to where Doc sat she held up a pretty pink rattle with a purple bow on it. "I bought her one of those little maraca things." She joked, but it sounded a little flat to her. A reminder when she hadn't known what the rattle was for when she first saw it. She wanted to be able to give Alice something. Apologize for giving her up. Apologize for sending her away. For taking so long to get her back. For being a shit Mom.

Gus was the best, most trusting person to every do the dumbest thing and trust Wynonna to close a bar and expect a profit. Not only did she had no people skills, but she didn't care much for serving the people of the town. Still, it was already closing time, and everyone was gone. So it wasn't like she had to deal with people. Just clean up and go home. Easy! Even she couldn't screw this up.
Doc seemed to be sticking around though, and she liked that. He made it fun to just be here, and not have to think about the cruse or everything out there. "Gus wont miss a bottle," Would she? Eh. Tomorrow's problem. Picking up one of the top shelf whiskey's she walked over and sat it on the counter before reaching for two glasses. "They have drinking games back then, Doc?" She asked, a grin on her lips. If not then she had a game she wanted to teach him.

Wise ass more like it. Not ready to go into the gritty with him she leaned on the wooden beam that held the roof up. Wynonna wasn't one to let the silence build, just as she wasn't the type to get all hearts and flowers over a guy. Still his comment did leave her thinking back to the kiss with Dolls. She could own up to her own actions. She knew she had hurt him and she hated herself a little for it. Between her and the Earp curse, everyone got hurt eventually. The only saving grace was that as long as she was the heir, Waverly was safe.
"I've not really had that many friends. Not ready to loose the ones I picked up so far here." Honest for her, but she wanted him to know what his friendship meant to her. She wanted to be more but wasn't sure she could be more for anyone. She was the psycho chick guys banged in bars, not the one guys kept around. She'd killed her father, and sister. Failed her sister by running away and not looking for her. Walking closer to him she stood close to him. "Besides, who is going to be my drinking buddy? You're the only one who can keep up."

This was bull shit! She saved the town that still hated her and now she wasn't even locked up in a hotel room. She was in a fancy shed! A government shed! "At least the psych ward had better lighting!" She yelled to the wall, hearing Doc talking behind her but not looking at him. Waverly wouldn't let her dry out! She'd bring booze! . . . . she better bring booze!
"He'll bring us booze with food." She said arrogantly. Then a bit hesitantly as if the thought hadn't occurred to her. "Right?"
Walking the perimeter she looked around. Not much in here. Nothing that said 'escape!' jumped out at her. She was used to being treated like a freak by the people she grew up with, and protected. She wasn't sure she liked the idea of Doc being treated that way too. So far they hadn't treated him that way, but this wasn't something she enjoyed sharing with him.

Find somewhere more permit. That was . . . not fun. "Safer here til then." She reminded him, not pushing for him to move out. She liked him close. Besides, she'd lost everyone else and she wasn't about to loose him on top of this. He was staying! Or she'd . . . shot him! Or something! Tie him up. Kinky. . . . that was sounding like a better plan every second, leaving or not.
"It might but . . . Waverly and Haught can find another place to hide and make out." She joked knowing he meant someone else but also knowing that it wouldn't hinder anything. She wanted Dolls back. Hands down wanted Dolls back and here to help her though this. He protected her in a way. From the town from herself. She needed that. But it wasn't who she needed the most. It was't the man who calmed the chaos she felt. The one she liked herself better when she was around him. He wasn't Doc. "Besides . . . . I like knowing you're out here." She paused, "Keep the foxes out of the hen house." To which she had no hen house.
