darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc was still trying to absorb it all. Let everything sink in. So, this was the city. These, fancy cars and buildings. It was a lot. Too much perhaps. From having lived in the world over a century ago, to seeing it now beyond the small town of Purgatory . . . he felt like a fish out of water. They were currently following a lead of a potential Revenant. Nicole and Waverly were making nice and building connections with the local law enforcement. They were all to meet tomorrow morning, as Wynonna and Doc had come in late and were going to get some rest. At a hotel, apparently.
One which appeared to have only one room left. They could deal with those logistics once they got there. Shouldn't be too difficult to sort out after all. He touched the tip of his hat and gave a nod, not oblivious to the looks he got from some people. Apparently, they just assumed he was from Texas. "This place is quite somethin'," he said, his eyes looking around at the large hotel area, so interestingly decorated. He was so distracted with everything around him that he hadn't even realized the buttons on the wall, or when he stepped through the open doors. He only realized something was odd when he saw the wall in front of him. He turned around to leave but then the doors closed. And, panic ensued.
He stumbled backwards until his back was against the wall, his arms spread out on either side of him as his hands pressed against the wall because there was nothing else to hold. His eyes widened and his heart was pounding in his chest. This small space was dark and . . . moving! They were moving! "Get me out," he breathed, short of breath and panicky. He saw a light that said 10 glow on the wall, and they were moving. Up, or down, he didn't even know. All he knew was that they were moving, and this was a small space.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE And there it was. The inevitable conversation. One that he knew was coming, but didn't want to hear. The safety of their daughter. Doc wished he could promise, swear to protect her. But . . . he knew he couldn't. The threats too many and too powerful for him to make such a promise, for he would never forgive himself if he broke it. He wanted to tell Wynonna that everything would be ok, that they could do this, that they could protect their daughter.
But . . . the reality was too harsh, and too dark. Their daughter would not be safe until the cures was broken. Even still, that made none of this easier to hear. Time was seldom on their side, though he longed to just remain here and enjoy the first few moments of Alice's life, together. But the clock was ticking. And with the way Wynonna spoke, the tone of her voice . . . he knew her well enough to recognize that she already had something in mind. "What do you propose we do?" He asked her, his eyes still upon the beautiful miracle they had created together.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc gently took their baby, delaying the process of putting her in the crib for he just enjoyed the way she felt in his arms. The way it made him feel when he held her. He slowly and carefully began to lay her down, basking in the glory that it was a perfect fit. A bit large but he had intentionally made it that way, to accommodate her size. Eventually, they would need something bigger. That was what he had read after all. He put a bit of the blanket over her, gently rocking her a little as Wynonna spoke. His eyes moved to the mother of his child, taking in her offer and . . . extremely grateful for it. For had she not said it, he would have asked for it. He wanted to be close to her. Close to both of them.
"I would very much like that," he told her, the gratitude evident in his voice. Hearing her then refer to them as an us . . . made his heart swell. Us. He recalled the last time that word was used, and she had said there was none. But, a baby had changed everything. Perhaps the only thing it hadn't changed, was his love for Wynonna . . . though, he supposed it only strengthened it. "Us," he repeated, looking back at their daughter. "I do like the sound of that," he added softly. Letting the words process, letting his heart and mind absorb it, he turned back to the heir.
"If my former accommodations are still in place, I can remain in the barn." He paused for a moment. He knew that these small devices -- cellular phones they were called -- could alert him should Wynonna or Alice require anything. But even the barn seemed to far away. "Or, if you would permit me, perhaps I could remain here, on the couch?" He didn't want to presume anything, nor pressure her. Truth was, he couldn't think of a place he'd rather be than beside her; the three of them, all together. But, he would take whatever he could get. To hear her say that she wanted him here, needed him here . . . meant the world to him. He wouldn't do anything to threaten that.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Her reaction caused a wave of relief to wash over him. She liked it. It was rare to see those smiles from Wynonna; those emotional ones. And he liked knowing that he could draw such an expression from her. He only wished he had the chance to do it more often. He smiled as their baby lay down in it, seeming to fit perfectly -- for now. He'd read how quickly they grew but they had time to prepare for all that. Hopefully.
"Oh, I highly doubt that," he told her sincerely. She thought he would be better at this . . . but no. He knew that she would be. "I do not think she could have a more caring, protective mother than the one she has now." He paused for a moment, taking Wynonna's hand in his and looking at her with soft intent so that she knew he meant his next words. "You'll be a wonderful mother. You already are. And I am the lucky one to be a part of all this." Of parenthood.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc carefully took the baby into his arms, unable to describe the feelings of holding this bundle of . . . joy. Yes. She was that. A bundle of joy indeed. Despite all the circumstances around them, the dark events of recent days. She was a glimmer of hope, to a brighter future. He had been so captivated that he almost didn't hear her words, but the impact of them had him break his gaze from their daughter and look at the one who had brought her into this world.
Part of him felt relieved, the other part of him felt . . . as if it perhaps wouldn't have mattered. Dolls words rung clear in his mind; that they needed Doc to be the father. Yes, perhaps she would be better off but he was certain of one thing: no other man could love her as much as a father should, than him. "I suppose . . . " He paused for a moment, looking back at their daughter. "I always saw her as such." As his. From the moment she had told him -- or technically, showed him. "She is beautiful," he said with a small smile, taking in every detail of her perfect features.

Doc's Shipper Tracker
Below is a list of Doc's hook ups and/or relationships throughout the show! I am totally fine with playing out hook ups in the canon verse since we know how much of a man whore he can be and AUs so I'm totally open to all the things! Any shipper names that aren't listed below only means that the pair doesn't have one yet, but this can easily be edited once discussed! If anyone would like to explore such interactions or dynamics with Doc, canon and/or AU, feel free to reply here or send me a PM =)! * hover over Doc's name below to see the list!

Plotter by Rach John Henry Holliday
dentist. gunslinger. poker player. bar owner.
guns, knives, tracking, knowledge, experience, gambling, reading people, quick reflexes, charm | emotional, selfish, claustrophobic, fears death, occasionally impulsive, heights |
We all know the story of Doc Holliday! He was once a dentist, though always longed for something more. Known for being the quickest draw, impeccable aim, and expert gambling skills . . . he once saved the life of a man named Wyatt Earp. The two joined forced and worked to ride the world of fugitives and criminals. Having developed tuburculosis at a young age and eventually on the brink of death, he made a deal for eternal longevity, spending over 100 of those years in the bottom of the well.
Once released -- thanks to Wynonna -- he re-emerged with an agenda of his own, only to once again vow loyalty to the Earp family. He exacted vengeance on Constnace, and now works with the Earps to end the curse, stop the threats that plague Purgatory, and redeem himself to avoid the depths of Hell.
If you'd like to thread with Doc Holliday, let me know! I'm up for anything and everything! Whether it's threads from the past, threads from the present, or anything before, after or in between! I love canon threads and I also love AU ones! Feel free to reply here or send me a PM! Looking forward to it and can't wait for all the plotting goodness! =D

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE The fact that Wynonna was even questioning it, instead of being certain of it, just fuelled the concern that Doc was already faced with. Dammit, he wasn't sick! He didn't get sick! "If the Sheriff does not, then surely Waverly will." She would look out for them. She would take care of them.
He trusted Waverly, emphatically. Surely she would not wish to see them suffer. "You know the good Sheriff better than I," he added. "Is it something that he would consider?" Booze with the food? Doc decided that it was no good pacing around, and just wound up sitting on the floor, his back against the wall as he took off his hat. "Best get comfortable. We're going to be in here for some time." But hell, so long as it wasn't over a century, he would be alright.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc had been told that she was alright. That both Wynonna and Alice were alright. The birth had gone well, and Wynonna had managed to get to the Homestead. The threat of Revenants still upon them, but at least the Homestead would be a safe space for them. A protected place until they figured out what the next step was. Doc felt his heart pounding in his chest as he neared the door, pushing it open, the sound of it clicking not even registering for his eyes fixed on the small bundle that Wynonna held so dearly.
Their daughter. He slowly approached, not even able to identify whatever emotions were coursing through him right now. He took off his hat, setting it on the table as he passed by it, and once he was close enough to Wynonna, crouched down in front of her as she reached out to him. He couldn't take his eyes off their precious girl -- as he was told. "May I?" He asked quietly, voice thick with emotion as he asked if he could hold their daughter for the first time.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc couldn't take his eyes off of her. She was perfect. Beyond perfect. The most beautiful little being he had ever laid eyes on. Their daughter. There had been so much happening in the past several weeks -- not to mention how the pregnancy was, expedited -- that he hadn't had time to really process what it would feel like when she actually came into this world. Then again, there was no amount of preparation that could have truly readied him for what it could feel like to hold their daughter for the first time. Drawing out emotions he hadn't even thought himself capable of. He supposed, this was what they called being a father. He was so entranced by her, that it took him a few additional moments to process what Wynonna was saying.
Waverly. Things. Set the baby down . . . Oh! He had something in the car for them. Something he had loaded up as soon as it was done . . . and now would come in use. Yet, Doc was stalling. He wasn't sure he was ready to let her go, even though he knew it would only be for a few moments. He stepped closer to Wynonna, clearly not wanting to part with their baby girl . . . and slowly moved her closer and closer to her mother. "Take her for a moment," he said reluctantly, not taking his eyes off of her, not even when she was safely nestled in her mother's arms. At which point, he just stared . . . once again belatedly realizing that he had given her to Wynonna for a reason. He then turned to leave the house, hurriedly going to the trunk and took out the crib he had made for her.
It wasn't much, but he had started the day after he'd found out about the baby. A way to show that he meant what he had wrote: he was all in. He pushed open the door that he hadn't properly shut, and set the crib down in the living room. It had a heart cut out on the front of it and rocked a little to help lull her to sleep. Looking around, he grabbed a pillow and a blanket, setting it down in the crib to add some padding. He suddenly wondered if he should have painted it . . . or just leave it be. "I hope it will be comfortable for her," he said, his eyes looking back to Alice's before meeting Wynonna's.

darlin' I'M EVERYBODY'S TYPE Doc stood in the make shift firing range that they had set up on the Homestead. After having proved who he was to Wynonna -- and ridding all his ties with Bobo -- he was now able to fully commit to her. Well, perhaps not fully. There was still that small matter of his own that needed tending to. But for the time being, he was willing to help. In this case, it was her aim. He knew just how valuable Peacemaker was to Wyatt, and presumably every heir since then -- now Wynonna.
But it was an old gun. She really had to strengthen her aim with any regular weapon, let alone the only gun that could send Revenants back to hell. But alas, that was what he was here for. He let out a breath of smoke, holding his cigar between his fingers and tossing it to the ground as he saw Wynonna approach, stepping on what was left of it. "Welcome to your first lesson in shooting." And who better than to teach it to her than him.
